Canopy — One app for every Seattle event

What We Collect

Canopy collects minimal data to provide its core functionality:

• Device push token — Used to send push notifications about events you've saved. Stored on our server, associated with event IDs you've bookmarked.
• Location (when in use) — Used to show your position on venue maps, calculate transit directions, and estimate distance to venues. Your location is never stored on our servers.
• Saved events and sessions — Stored locally on your device using SwiftData. Your schedule choices are not sent to our server except for push notification targeting.

What We Don't Collect

• No account or login required
• No name, email, or personal information
• No location history or tracking
• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising identifiers
• No data sold to third parties

Third-Party Services

• Ticketmaster — Event data is fetched via Ticketmaster's Discovery API through our server. No user data is shared with Ticketmaster.
• OneBusAway / Sound Transit — Transit data is fetched from the Puget Sound OneBusAway API. No user data is shared.
• OpenTripPlanner — Route planning uses Sound Transit's public OTP instance. Your origin/destination coordinates are sent for route calculation but not stored.
• Apple Maps — Used for venue maps and optional deep-link directions. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Uber / Lyft — Deep links open these apps if installed. No data is shared until you interact with their app.

Data Storage

Event data, saved sessions, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Push notification device tokens are stored on our server (hosted on Railway) and associated only with event IDs, not personal information.

Data Deletion

You can delete all local data at any time in Settings > Clear All Events. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. Push notification tokens are automatically cleaned up when they become invalid.

Children's Privacy

Canopy does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is intended for general audiences.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL.
